When I select print, the data begins transmitting to the
printer, only a few lines print, then my computer shuts
down and reboots. The message I got is:
STOP OXOOOOOO50 (OXE5E60838, OXOOOOOOOO, OXBDB34541,
OXOOOOOOO2)
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Address BDB34541 base at BDB31000, DateStamp 3b45f632-
ati2dvaa.dll
Beginning dump of physical memory
dump complete
Contact system administrator or tech support group
I am running Windows 2000, 5.00.2195, Service Pack 4
Computer is: DELL Optiplex GX240, Intel (R) Pentium, (R)
4cpu 1.80 GHz
AT/AT Compatible
261,136 KB RAM
Printer is: Canon S500 Color Bubblejet Printer, using
Parallel port
With DELL's online support, we tested the parallel port
without the printer connected. The diagnostic procedure
determined the port to be fine, which we suspected since
the data was getting transmitted to the printer before it
shuts down. We also tried uninstalling the printer and
drivers and then reinstalling, but got the same results.
Computer still shuts down during the print job. They
suggested I contact Canon.
Canon had me run direct testing on the printer, without
using the computer. The nozzle test worked and printed
just fine since we bypassed the computer. They say the
problem is not the printer, but is in Microsoft Windows
2000 due to downloaded updates or other software setup
selections.
I don't know what else to try. Please help!
Sincerely,
Jan Brickey
