I started having a problem with XP printing shadows of everything regardless
of what application I used, even with the prtin test page. I'm pretty sure
it started when I did a windows update and had lots of updates several months
ago, or I may have printing to my printer via USB, but I don't think so
because that was only for a D-linlk wireless print server that I never got to
work.
Anyway, I discovered that somehow my drivers I downloaded from HP had been
changed to the Windows drivers and they print "shadows" on everything. I
even tried other "compatible" models of printers, but they do the same thing.
It is almost unreadable on normal size text and is unreadable on small text.
How do I keep this from happening again and doesn't Microsoft test the
drivers they are forcing on people? This appears to be a "Universal" driver
and not specific to the series printer I have. According to HP it is
developed Microsoft, NOT HP!
Can I expect this of all the device drivers they try to push down on me?
