I am running Win XP with an HP 2110 printer which prints everything with no
problems. But when a friend sent a scanned item only a blank page printed.
How do I get scanned pages sent via email to print?

It does not matter how the page was created (scanned,
photographed, hand-drawn.) What matters is that it is
in a format your printer recognizes (e.g. JPG, PDF, TIF etc.)
Reset your EXPLORE.EXE (My Computer) to display full
filenames (the filetype as well as the filename.) If your
friend omitted the filetype, you can just rename as
appropriate to restore it, and the file will then print OK.

No, printers do not recommend any such formats. The issue is having a
program installed that recognizes such formats--for example, Adobe
Reader for a pdf file, Paint for a jpg file, etc. You need to open the
file in a program that understands it, and *then* you can print the
file from that program.

So the question to Pat is what file format (extension) did your friend
send the scanned item in.
