Jeremy:
Your post is not clear about what you mean that the text get out of
alignment with the row lines; you mean that the lines over lap the text as
it goes down the page?
If so there could be a myriad of issues here, but a couple of things to look
at first.
1.) Yes, check and update both video and printer drivers. (Update the
server first related to the printer and then delete the printer locally and
re-attach to it; the server will then download the latest drivers to the
workstation.)
2.) Check the dpi used for your report. Keep in mind that video display is
done at about 96 dpi and that printer can range normally from 600-2400 dpi.
That's a huge difference when it comes to converting images in point and
pixels which are used in printing and display respectiely. You may want to
increase the dpi used for your report.
2.) In our experience Access has historically had an issue with minor
"slippage" of items as they move down the page due to mis alignment of
images to the pixels and points. You can move lines and other controls and
section heights at a granular level of .0007 inches from the top. Often the
height of the detail section can be adjusted in minor incremenets
(especially if you have lines at the top or bottom, above or below sections,
to substantially reduce or eliminate the "shifting" that you see.

I have and access program that I wrote 1 year ago on a windows 98
workstation. I just got a new computer running windows XP and I'm having
problems printing the reports. I have a report the have multiple rows of
employee times. In the print preview, it all looks fine. When I print it
though, the text starts getting out of alignment with the row lines. By the
bottom of the first page, the text is a full row off. Could it be a printer
driver? Does office have a way of manually dictating how many rows print on
a page? The printer is on a server machine running Window Small Business
Server 2000.
