printing report preview

Hello.
I cannot understand this behaviour:
I set up some code to open a report in preview mode;
then -- I thought -- I'd print the report by means
of the popup menu.
Well, the menu pops up, the usual printing form shows,
but nothing seems to be sent to any printer.
(I tried some printers, both real and virtual)
Nothing is added to print queues.
I solved this using acNormal instead, piping print into
a print manager, but I'd like to understand nonetheless.
