I've been set up on Windows XP and using remote desktop
connection for some time to work from home. I recently
upgraded my printer from an old HP laserjet III to a
1300. After upgrading and adding drivers I can no longer
print at my home printer from files on the office(host)
computer. The doc says when I sign on with a driver that
is on the host computer that it will automatically see my
printer at the client. (I have identical printers at host
and client location and identical drivers loaded on both
machines using USB ports. The old printers were on LPT
ports.) This isn't happening. Any suggestions? I've
lost a week and a half of time here waiting for disks to
be mailed and still no luck. Help!!!

This is not an HP model I've worked with, unfortunately.

Can you tell me, sitting either at home or at work:

When you go to properties of the printer, ports tab, what is the name of the
port that is checked off as connecting the printer to the system?

Take a look at this KB article:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;302361

to see whether it applies. If you follow the suggestion to make the
registry modification, you must reboot your computer before testing whether
printer redirection functions on the next connection attempt.
