I have three Win2K machines on a P2P network connected to
a Netgear LAN switch (CAT 5, not wireless). I also have
three printers on the network - HPIV and HP2000C are
plugged directly to the LAN, while the HP2500C is shared
via 3rd PC.
I was able to print to all printers from any PC, then all
of a sudden I started having problems. If any PC prints to
any one of the three printers then that printer is only
avaiable to that PC. In order for a new print job from a
different PC to print to that same printer, I first must
power cycle the printer(kinda to clear things up I guess)
before the job prints on the printer.
It doesn't matter which PC prints first, once a job is
sent, the other PC's print jobs are held in que until I
power cycle the printer the job was sent to. Once the
printer is power cycled then it is available to print from
any of the 3 PCs.
I've tried removing and installing new print drivers on
all three PCs but still no resolve. I've also switched the
printers' physical locations and port connectors on the
switch to no avail.
This is getting annoying to the point of madness.
Can anyone suggest what to do?
