Printing problem

When I first used my printer on winxp all was working
well,
But when I did use it the fax would come up and I would
have to cancel that first, so I deleted this and now the
printer will not work even if I try to reinstall,
The printer works well on my old computer,
and it has a new driver installed for xp any ideas how I
can get it up and running
 
When the fax came up, it was because the fax was identified as being the
default printer... all you should have done was go to the Control Panel,
click on Printers & Faxes and right click the printer and highlight Set as
Default.

Now you deleted it when you should have uninstalled it.

What is the error message when you try to reinstall it?
