According to this knowledgebase article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;305402 and some
discussions I've seen here, the printing preferences defined on a server
should be copied to a workstation when a user makes the initial connection
to a shared printer on the server. I am not seeing this.
I have a small network with a NT 4.0 domain controller with Windows 2000 and
2003 member servers. The clients are running all versions of Windows from 95
to XP, but I am concerned only with 2000 and XP right now.
I add a new printer on the server, then change the printing preferences for
that printer. When I move to a workstation and make a connection to the
printer on the server, I see the printer default settings -- not the ones
that I defined on the server.
Is there anything I can do on the server side to ensure that the settings
are copied to the workstation?
