Printing Pivot Table Queries

I have a Pivot Table query that I would like to print directly (ie no
preview) from a command button on a modal, pop-up form. I am having 2
problems:

1) I can't find a command to print a query directly - Currently I am turning
off screen updating, opening the query, printing the query, closing the query
(no saves) and finally turning screen updating back on again. This seems a
very long winded way of doing it and interferes with my form sizes - My
background menu is maximised, the pop up for is not (restore). After printing
the background menu is no longer maximised (restore).

2) The pivot table query is not saving its page setup properties (page
orientation, margins) so keeps printing in landscape instead of portrait.

Any help appreciated.

Is there a reason why you don't create a report based on your crosstab
query?

The report in question is only for system managers so doesn't need any fancy
formatting - I just wanted to replicate the functionality that is availble
when you view the Pivot Table in the Query Designer and take the Print/Print
Peview option from the Menu so was after a 'quick and dirty' solution.

I gave you my story and I'm sticking to it ;-) Maybe someone else will reply
with an alternative solution. In the time it takes to reply back and forth a
few times, you might be able to create a nice report.

Hi Duane

I don't disagree with you - a lot of the time I post messages to the group
is to push the envelope of my Access knowledge - there is usually several
ways of achieving the same result.

In this case the Pivot Table was the ideal solution for me as the rows are
sorted in a specific way and you can specify this with a Pivot Table which
you can't easily do this with a crosstab (unless you add a sort order field).
Microsoft provide a myriad of ways of formatting pivot tables but then:
a) Don't appear to provide a means of saving the page orientation and margins
b) Don't appear to have provided a print method

Both of the above seem a pretty stupid omission so I had assummed that I had
missed something and could be told what to do. However, if I am correct in my
assertions it would be nice for an 'expert' to confirm this for the sake of
my sanity ;-) and I could also then submit a Wish to Microsoft.
