Hi - does anyone know if there's a printer that can do this? I gather the
Canon 865 can't, something to do with the dye - what about the Epson 300?

I don't want to print anything fancy, just some text and maybe a small
graphic.

TIA

The CD or DVD surface must be "prepped" for ink adhesion. For this reason,
the media must be designated as "printable". Most will have a white matte
surface although some silver matte surfaces may hold the ink, dunno. But if
the surface is silver-shiney, I doubt the ink will set well. And of course
it depends on the dye or ink used. Obviously, commercial CD and DVD printers
can print anything on anything.

Rob I print heaps of C.Ds using the stick on labels...there are many many
good programs that let you do this have you tried this??

Many thanks all:

Thermal printers - look superb but too expensive;
Labels - tried it but I've had a few peel over the years, and lead to
unreadable cds. It's also a bit of a performance.

I think the solution for me will be a decent inkjet (Canon 865 seems to be
the pick) and white printable cdrs.
