I know this is a problem which affect many people but i have been unable to
find a solution.

If I highlight , say 10 Word documents in a folder right click and choose
print - nothing happens. There is no problem if I choose them one by one.

I am told by the Office forum experts that this is a problem with DDE and
that i should direct my question to the experts here. Can you give me a
resolution?

To find the settings that govern the spooling feature, choose Start>Control
Panel>Printers and Faxes. Right-click the icon for the printer you want to
tweak and choose Properties. In Windows 2000 and XP, click the Advanced tab.

If your top priority is to minimize the time your application forces you to
wait, make sure Spool print jobs so program finishes printing faster is
selected (it should already be selected by default) and then choose Start
printing after last page is spooled underneath. This option requires more
free disk space to store the spool file, however.

Have you tried to do a Google search for printing multiple documents?
Try it, you'll get many hits and a lot of information which may resolve
your situation. Most people printing documents print one at a time to
check the final result in case of printing problem such as running out of
ink or incorrect printing results. Which also could save a lot of paper
waste.
