Printing just comments

Hi Steve,

Couple of questions...

1) By comments, do you mean the text from the notes pages, the text from the
slides, or the text from the comments attached to items on the slide?

2) What version of PowerPoint are you using?

I'd like to print out just the reviewer comments with no slides, how can i
do that?

I think that the closest you could get would be to print handouts, 9/page,
and check the box for Print Comments and Ink. That will give you all of your
comments with Slide No. and reviewer name.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

PowerPoint doesn't provide the functionality that you are looking for
(printing just inserted comments <not slides, handouts, etc.>).

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it's important that
PowerPoint provide this kind of functionality, don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).

Obviously its important or I wouldn't have asked.

We typically have very large groups reviweing presentations and have the need to quickly consolidate comments. There should be an Export Comments feature that allows an easy export of the text comments (including Reviewer & Slide number) to Word or Excel. Our presentations are often 100MB+ and over 200 graphics intensive slides. The Merge & Compare feature is not robust enough for us to merge the documents and then print all the slides just to be able to get the comments

The same Export feature would be very useful for Speaker notes as well

You have my comments......please forward them to the MFST web site or whatever

No chance you guys could gin up a quick plug-in for this

Typically, we are a rather helpful bunch of volunteers, and an add-in to do
what you request is simple enough to build.

Do you want directions on where to look to learn how, or do you want someone
to bid on putting one together for you?

It could happen, but John's not the guy to take to task about it. If you want the folks
who make these decisions to hear about it, you really need to post the request at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

as John mentioned. I don't know this for a fact, but I suspect that MS views this as a
kind of "seriousness test"; if it's not worth taking the time to post a request at the
URL above, maybe they figure it's not causing anyone enough pain for them to invest
resources in solving.
