printing issue

We have prepared a rather large power point presentation
for our client. The docuement is about 700 slides and is
16MB. At our office, we are able to print the document
without any problems. When the client prints at their
facility, they are havving problems. On about half of the
pages, the font sizes become abnormally large (e.g., 16 pt
becomes 36 pt, etc.).

We are working from the same versions of Power Point.

Does it sound like a) a memory issue, b) a print driver
issue or c) other?

We just cannot seem to figure this out. Thanks for any
assistance.

Chris,

My guesstimate would be they need to upgrade their printer driver and their
version of DirectX. But, that is just a SWAG.

I think, this is a font problem. Are all fonts used in the presentation
installed on your client's computer? If not, you should either install them
on his computer or embed them in the presentation (which will make file size
larger).

If they are installed on his computer, it may be the printer which doesn't
have them and uses the closest built-in font instead. Have a look in the
"File - Print" dialog box, next to the printer name you will find an
"Options" button. Somewhere in this options (where exactly depends on the
printer driver) you will find a possibility to control TrueType fonts. The
default setting usually is something like "use printer's built-in fonts".
Change this to something like "load TrueType fonts into printer as
softfonts". Then the printer will use exactly the same fonts as the
computer. Please note, that these settings will not be saved with the file,
but have to be checked before printing.

Kind regards and a peaceful Christmas,
Ute
