Is there a way to make a report smaller to print in portrait.
I tried everything and my report is running off the edge to the
right. Do I have to make my controls on the report smaller.

On the menu in Report design view, click View and make sure Ruler is
checked. Check your PageSetup for Portrait view, for the size of the
Margins, then adjust the size and placement of the controls, and the size of
the page itself. That's what design view is for.

You can't expect always to have the wizards generate a report just as you'd
wish to see it.

I, generally, want to view and print my reports in Portrait, too. But, even
if the Wizard did generate them in Portrait view, I'd still have changes I
would want to make to the design.

If you were hoping there was a "size report to fit page" option in print, as
there is in some software, sorry, there is not one in Access.

Yes, you may have to resize the controls.

On the other hand it sounds like you may have a limited understanding at
this point of the things that can impact your problem.

1.) Check your reports margins (File -> Page Set Up). By default, Access
out of the box, uses default margins of 1 inch all the way around which is
often more than you need. Downsize these to .25 or what ever your printer
will support, giving you more room on the page.

2.) Make sure that you show the ruler and gridlines when designing the
report. Then you can see visually how wide your page is (remember to add
margin settings to the visual width you see to understand how wide it will
actually be on the page.
