Try the following for the "1344" error:
Removal of certain items will remove some registry keys.
Solution:
From a Win2000 or WinXP machine, export these keys from the registry and
import on the machine with the print problem/script error. These work on
both 2000 and WinXP.

I have not experienced the problem, nor have I tried this solution,
however, it has worked well for a number of folks.
