I down loaded a design template from the MS website. When trying to use it for my background it does not print. Other backgrounds do print. Ideas?

Which version of PPT? Are you printing in color, pure black and white,
or grayscale? (File/Print will show you those options.)

Thank you. When I went to print color it worked. Once again thanks.

Well, if you're printing black and white, go to View/Black and White
first. Then go to View/Master. Right-click elements on the background
and set them to the B/W Settings "automatic" or "black with white fill."

Or you can experiment with printing pure black and white vs black and
white vs grayscale [depending on your version of PPT, which you still
didn't mention :-) ].

I noticed this as well. When I print a presentation using
a design template that comes with powerpoint, the handouts
or slides I print only print the text on the
presentation. The background resulting from the design
template does not printout.

In my own design template using photos or clip-art, I
noticed that presentations I print include the background
resulting from the design tempate I made.

Why does this occur? In printing a presentation, how do I
prevent the design of the template from printing?

Go to View/Black and White, then to View/Slide Master.

Right-click on the object in the background and choose B/W settings. Change
this to something which lets you see your background while in B/W View. This
doesn't affect the colors in your presentation; it only affects the b/w
settings for print.

Experiment with printing in grayscale (or black and white) vs Pure Black and
White, all of which you'll find when you go to File/Print. One of these
(grayscale/black and white?) prints the backgrounds, whereas the other
doesn't.
