Printing GIF files

I have some saved gif images that I would like to print out in a little
booklet but so far have not figured out a good way to print multiple panels
on a page. I tried using Picasa, Google's new offering, by using the Print
Contact sheet and setting the options to 3.5 x 5 prints and shrink to fit.
But they don't print out in the correct order.

They print landscape like this:
Page 1 Page 2
3 1 7 5
4 2 8 6

They tell a little story so the sequence is important. I could cut the page
in half and manually resequence them but I was hoping to find a way to print
them where there wouldn't be further editing required.

Does anyone know of an easy way to print them? There are 31 of them.

How are the files named? Are they in alphabetical order? Have you tried renaming in
sequence i.e. 01,02,03... Or change the sequence the Google program is assuming you
want?
Do you have an layout application? You can layout photos in Word. Have you tried
www.irfanview.com? It is a free program, it will print contact sheets, you will need
the Plug-In's too.

Hi Mary,

Thank you for your response!

The pix are in the correct order in the file. All numbered so they will
sort correctly. I didn't really want to have to do all the set up such as
moving them to Word. And I downloaded IRFANVIEW but it doesn't give you the
option of limiting the number of pix on each contact sheet. I'd like to
just have 4 or 6.

So I am pursuing with Google to see if there is a setting I need to change.

Thank you again for your response!

If you do not have software of the type
that allows for making collages like
MS Picture It! or MS Digital Image for
example...

Try the following steps in IrfanView.

Go to...Image / Create Panorama Image /
Horizontal...

Choose the two top images in the order
you require / Add Images / Select /
Open / Create Image.

Save this as File One. (This creates a file
with two images side by side)

Now create another file for the bottom two
images...

Save this as File Two.

Now...go to...Image / Create Panorama Image /
Vertical...and join the two files.

Now you have a single image that contains
four pictures...Two over Two.

Maybe not the easiest / fastest method but
unless you have the correct software it is one
way to solve the issue.
