I am trying to print an old Gwbasic program with my new computer. Operating
system is XP Media. A reply to a previous post suggested I use the net.exe
command. Specifically, net use lptx:\\printserver\sharename /persistent:yes.

I have been unsuccessfully attempting to use this command.
I am not sure what my printserver name is?
Does anyone know how I can dtermine what is needed for this part of the
command.

Also, it was suggested purchasing software called Printfil. If i "bite the
bullet" and purchase this software will the software automatically know what
to do? or will I be directed to give info regarding my printserver and
therefore be stymied again?command?--
Thanks

Dear Mr. J Greske,

therefore be stymied again?command?--

Printfil can automatically capture the LPT1 output sent by your GwBasic
program and forward it to any printer which is installed on your Windows
Control Panel without having to deal with NET USE or other commands.
Unlike NET USE, it works also with Windows-only (AKA GDI) printers and
virtual printers (WinFax, Acrobat Distiller etc.)

I suggest you to try it yourself by downloading and installing the free
trial version you can find at http://www.printfil.com

For any further question, feel free to contact us directly.
