Printing from DOS based program

Hello

I have problem:
There is a new computer with Windows XP HE with DOS program. Where user from
this program prints something (order, report) his printer (OKI 521, EPSON
FX1170) starts to print at once. But after a half of page printer stops for
about 10 sec. and then prints rest of a document.
That problem is the same on a few others computers with Win XP.

Help mi please
Robert (Poland)

P.S.
1. The same DOS program is working on Win98 and is OK.
2. I tryed to change property: 'Print direct to printer' in printer
properties, but it didn't help

XP does not provide "dos". This is documented. It's emulation of DOS is
different than that provided in Win98.

Suggest you discuss this problem with the developer of the Dos
application to find out what steps should be taken to make it work with
XP. Also check with the manufacturer of the printer.

You may wish to consider run this application on a DOS or Windows 98
machine.

I don't know about XP, but Win NT has a like problem. Closing out the
DOS window gets it moving. In my case my users were printing hundreds of
pages so it was a real problem. I am guessing that with enough tweaking of
baud rates packet sized etc (this was a LAN application) it might have been
resolved.
