Rather than retyping a file listing based on a search, I'm wondering if there
is any way to export the file details (file name, location, type, date
modified, etc) to a text file. I'm using Windows XP 5.1 sp1

Thanks very much.

You can save the search results using the File, Save Search menu item.

If you want to print the results of the search (to printer or text
file), have a look at ExpPrint (www.jddesign.co.uk). This page
http://www.jddesign.f2s.com/eptutor/eptutorial.htm illustrates
printing of the search results.

Hope that you are still there... I just found your 2005 answer to my current
(2008) problem. The solution does not work for me. When I save the search, it
is not a text file. Opening it in Notepad yields gibberish. Double-clicking
the file opens the Search but without the results (just the search defined).
This is Windows XP v.5.1 sp2.

Can you plz clarify how the saved search can be turned into text?

Thanks much,

Hi David,
One more thing. I would settle for having the Search Results "folder" being
handled like a regular folder. I have added the PRINTDIR function in Windows
Explorer so that I can print the contents of a folder to a file, but the
Search Results "folder" does not show the same context menu. If there is a
way to do this, it would work, too.

Thx again. Gosh, I hope you are still in this group!
