Greetings,

I am considering using computer calligraphy to print the envelopes for my
daughter's wedding. Unfortunately, I have run into a snag. The printers
all print #10 envelopes and DL and C5 or C6, none of which are the "right"
shape.

What type of equipment is used to print A-9 envelopes? Are there any inkjet
printers that will do this?

I'd appreciate your response.

Thanks.

Judith

A9 ? Are you sure ?
This is tiny 37 x 52 mm
This is more a label size than an envelope.

Anyway, whatever the size might be, hasn't your wordprocessor a "create" or
"customize" function for size of document ?

I have only tried once or twice many years ago to remember much, but most
if not all printers have option to print ENVELOPE and you will have to goto
the menu (the program comes with printer) to set the corrent size. Or you
can try many freeware or shareware programs and let them do the job for you.

I don't remember if I used the envelope printing program or the envelope
selection from the printer setting....

I have done several envelope sizes. One way is to use the custom size
routine, another is to compose it on the 8 1/2 x 11 format but measured to
fit where the envelope should be printed as it goes through the printer, and
I have also done some envelopes by doing the composing on the #10 format but
placing the text in a location where it fits the desired envelope properly.
I should also add that some printers do envelopes well when fed by the short
edge, some do best fed by the long edge, and some don't do envelopes well
at all. You need to experiment!

Is there no options or 'custom' settings for envelopes on your
printer? Or the software you are using?

Just use a software like microsoft publisher and design the fields to
print where you need them. It has a very easy to use mail merge
that will pick up the addresses from a database.
