Printing Centered?

Hello,

I am printing posters using Adobe In Design CS3 on a Mac. I am using a
HP Design Jet 5500PS. The posters do NOT print out perfectly
centered. The top and left side have more space to them than do the
right and bottom of the poster. I need the poser to be perfectly
centered. The prints are large; 24 inches wide by 36 inches high to
be exact. I have chosen "centered" from the print preference dialogue
box but it remains off. Any help on this issue would greatly be
appreciated.

Check your page setup and printer setup - margins equal?

Verify that the margins you have chosen for the page allow true centered
printing. Are you trying to set a margin on a given boundary that is
smaller than the printer is able to print? Not all the allowable margins
are the same.

Check the update as I think there were some printing problems, and see
if that helps
 
That is "normal behavior" for many printers. A few have driver settings that
may help, others require mechanical adjustments or use of an OEM service
utility. A few (usually the inexpensive models) are not adjustable by any
means, short of "fudging" margins with an application or printing utility.
Faced with this sort of problem, many use oversize paper and trim.
