I am trying to scan and print some 1940 to 50 photographs.
They have scanned ok and look the same as the photos but when I try to print
they are off colour.
A Sepia has actually come out black and white. But the Black and white have
a greenish tinge. How can I adjust the printer to give me Black and white ?

The scanner / printer is an Epson stylus Photo RX600

I have found that sometimes software can make a mess of things. I once
tried three different programs and only one printed in the colour i
saw.

Most scanners and printers have an option to operate in grayscale. You should
look in the drivers for your devices and set both devices to grayscale, this
should work.

It's very hard to get really 100% neutral black and white prints.

Set the scanner to scan in greyscale mode to be sure the problem isn't with
the scanner (or convert a previous scan to greyscale using a program like
Irfanview or whatever you have). Run a print and see if that's cured the
problem - probably not - you then have two choices..

1) Set the printer preferences to black and white (or greyscale) rather than
colour.
2) Go back and scan in colour and then adjust the image to turn down the
green slightly. Easily done using Irfanview or whatever you have.

Professionals use a complicated program to greate a colour profile to suit
the printer, paper and even the viewing conditions (prints look different
colours under natural and artificial light).
