Printing and SP2

Please advise. I recently updated my XP Professional OS with SP2. I am now
having trouble printing on my personal printer. My printer is connected
using a USB cable. The underlying program (Excel/Word) just hangs and the
printer does not spool/work. I have turned the spooler on and off, with no
positive result. I have also plugged/unplugged my printer, but no luck.

Were any changes made to printer settings along with the Service Pack 2
update that might cause this to happen?

I would unplug the USB cable, remove/delete the printer from the
system, reboot, plug in the USB cable and re-install it. Chances are
that Windows will automagically recognize the printer and re-install
the drivers that are SP2 friendly when you (if it is an popular brand
ie: HP,Dell,etc.)

Hope that helps.
