Hi all, we have a weird issue on TS and printer redirection, we have one 2k
server box where somehow when only a user has admin rights are able to get
the printer redirection, but it doesn't wanna work if their a member of the
users group. We tried it with both joining the domain and adding that user in
AD and locally , cause originally the box is on a workgroup, we tried also
changing the local policy in giving users access to load device drivers but
that still didn't do it, we also tried the print operators under AD but still
the same, we're avoiding giving the user admin rights, anyone has pointers or
ideas pls help, thanks in advanced.

From your statement "we have one 2k server box where somehow when only a user
has admin rights are able to get the printer redirection..." it sounds like
you have more than one Terminal Server, yes?

Did you used to be able to redirect printers with non-admin accounts, or has
it always been this way?

Is this a production server? It doesn't sound like it, as moving it from a
workgroup environement to a domain environment would change all of your user
profiles.

It worked all in the past before without admin rights through our stand
alone domain servers, we needed to setup this one as a w/g server because it
didn't need to be in the domain for security reasons. Thanks again
