Printing a selected portion of text from IE

This is a question that most likely involves a setting or something within
Internet Explorer 6.0. I have a new 3 in 1 HP Printer hooked up to a Tobisha
Laptop with windows XP with IE 6.0. When I need to print a small portion from
any website I normally select the part I want to print instead of printing
the whole page and I can print that portion with my older HP printer.
However, I cannot do this from this computer, a Tobisha Laptop and this new
HP printer. I have contacted HP techs two times but they have been unable to
help. I can print selected text from my MSN explorer ok, and from every where
else. It is just IE where I cannot print a selected portion of text. I
checked under the advanced tab in internet options but I didn't see anything
there that could cause any problem. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm on a Toshiba notebook, albeit with Vista Ultimate and IE7 and I can
select text on IE and when clicking on File, Print, it does give me the
option to Print Selection.

However I do not have any HP printers. Lexmark Optra and multiple Canon
inkjets.

Cari, I have an older model HP Printer (approx 5 yrs. old) that prints the
selected area in IE just fine. It is just this stupid HP F4280 that will not
print in IE. It is possible that it is something in the programming of the
driver software. It prints the selected area just fine in the MSN explorer
and in all other areas. I advised the HP techs that I would not have
purchased it if I had known it. I unistalled and installed it again just to
be sure that it was installed right, but that did not help any. I am
satisfied now that it is in the driver software so I guess I will have to
live with it. Thanks for your answer.
