Printing a date stamp

Is there any way to print a picture, from a digicam, and get a date stamp
(of when the picture was taken) print out on the image. I'm thinking of
exactly the sort of thing that SLRs with a databack could do and also (so
I'm told) APS cameras could do. Some digicams offer this facility but not
all.

I don't want to use any software from the camera manufacturers or directly
connect a camera to a printer. Do Microsoft do any sneaky utils for this?

TIA

Either of the following freebies can add
date stamps and other options. If you want
the original date...it must be included in
the EXIF info. To see the EXIF info...you
can right click a .jpg and choose...Properties /
Summary tab / Advanced button.

FastStone Photo Resizer

Also MS Digital Image 10 and 2006
can print date stamps when the Print Multiple
option is ised.

There's a trial version if you would like to
give it a test drive:

Microsoft Digital Image Starter Edition 2006
is a downloadable 60 day trial version with
much of the functionality of MS Digital Image
Suite 2006.

Once your 60 day trial period has ended, the
program will de-feature to minimal functionality.

Unlike the retail version...the trial does not
have the ability to create VCDs and does
not support RAW files.

Thanks for that John, I'm off to investigate your suggestions now - I'll
report back any success!
