Printers reinstall with every boot up

I'm running Win XP-Home on a new Toshiba Satellite notebook. I have an Epson 1200 printer at home, and an Epson 860 at the office. Every time I connect a printer that is already turned on (USB) and then boot up my notebook, a "copy" of the printer installs itself. I end up with about 6 copies of each printer before I get sick of the mess and uninstall everything, about once a week. What do I need to do?

Hi JRH,

I've run into that problem and it ends up that you must completely uninstall the printer. Then load the driver disk. Do NOT
connect the printer until the install is complete or till when you are told to. If you hook up the printer first, then Windows
wants to load the driver and that is why it ask each time you power up.
