Printers on Win2K Pro

I work in a school where we have computers in groups of 6
with a networked printer physically close by. Some of the
class rooms are over 100 metres apart. How can I restrict
the pupils to using the printer nearest to their group as
at present if they move to a different area their
printouts come out at a remote printer. In other words how
do locate printers geographically instead of based on
users.
Many thanks for any advice - the manuals just don't help!

If you use roaming profiles, the profile is overriding the
default local printer for the PC the user logs onto. This
is the default behavior for roaming profiles even though
it makes little sense.

To override this default behavior and have the PC connect
to a nearby printer, see microsoft Article 304767. The
solution requires a registry edit on each PC and a script
file.
