Printers just disapeared

All of sudden, all my printers (XP Profesonal OS)
disapeared nothing is there. rebooted several times but no
luck.

The same has happened to me. I lost my printer two weeks

ago and have not been able to get it back even after
reloading the softwear. I bought a new xp compatable
printer scince the one I had been using was pre XP. but I
have had no luck with the new printer. I keep getting an
error message saying that 'The RPC server is
unavailable'. during the loading process. Have you had
any luck getting your printers back?

I have a similar situation, disappearing print drivers, all of them. I
am also unable to install print drivers, or printers for that matter.
Neither via cd or via wizard. To wit, I can't uninstall printer
software either... hmmm
Virus? OS glitch?
Anyone?

Did this happen after applying patches to Windows? I tried to start a
thread on this soon after the Blaster patch did this to a machine I
was working on, but no good leads yet. For me, a reinstall of XP and
not patching the OS has worked.
