Printers & Faxes does not appear

For some problems I formatted my C:\ and reinstall Win XP SP2.
I installed some printers devices. I could see & use them through
applications (e.g. MS Word) but in: START|Printers & Faxes, no printer is
there, it is empty . Also ( Add Printer ) Wizard did not work.
What can I do?

So, just to be clear, in Word when you do a File > Print you have printers,
but they don't appear in Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes, is that
right?

What problems were you having that led you to format & reinstall? And are
you sure you actually did the format, or perhaps just a reinstall
over-the-top?

How did you install these "printers devices" and what were they?

When you tried to use the "Add Printer" wizard what exactly happened, did
you get error messages?
