I have two win2k domain controllers (AD is replicated to the second), and
one of them is kinda our print server too. I noticed at the beginning of
this week that all the printers on that server have disappeared from AD -
if I look/search in AD Users & Computers or go through the directory in
Explorer I can't see them anyway. Printers shared on any other servers/PCs
are still visible (there's about 6 printers shared on the primary domain
controller as it's also used for TS). The printers on the second DC are
still visible via SMB and printing still works fine.
I don't think anything else disappeared.
I checked the Event Viewer but didn't see anything out of the ordinary
regarding AD. I restarted the primary DC to do the windows security
updates last Friday evening and didn't look at AD after restarting so
wouldn't have noticed seen any change till Monday - could the reboot have
caused this?
Any ideas?
Also, when I look on the sharing properties for these printers on the
server, the "List in the Directory" box is still checked - how would I get
them back on AD?
