printers disappear

I have a windows 2000 machine. When I want attempt to
print sometimes my printers have disappeared and I get an
error message saying that I am out of resources.

FYI: During the research I came across a solution I
thought that said to start the printer services in control
panel, and I did that and the problem corrects temporarly.

I have a local printer and network printers as well, and
they all just disappear.

any assistance with this matter will be greatly
appreciated.

What do you mean they disappear? Do you mean that the Printers Folder has
only an Add Printer item? If so, that is most likely that the Print Spooler
service is down. That is why restarting the Print Spooler service corrects
it.

When the problem occurs, see if the Print Spooler service went down. If so,
you need to determine which software component is hurting it by a process of
elimination.

Which software are you seeing the "out of resources" error in? What is the
*exact* message?
