Hi
I have a problem with two Win2k Pro machines that are not displaying any of
their installed printers. Both machines are running service pack 2 and when
you go the Control Panel - Printers, only the Add Printer option is
displayed. I know that there is one printer installed and you can still
print to it ok from Word, Outlook etc, but the printer is grayed out in the
print box and you can not change any of its properties. Also the Add Printer
button is not working. If you click on it nothing happens, not even and
error message.
I found an article on the MS Knowledge Base, Q271248, but it has not helped.
I've tried installing Service Pack 3 and 4 but again no help. The drive is
Fat32 so it can not be a file permission problem. I thought that it might be
a permission problem with a key in the registry but I have no idea were to
look. The Print spooler is running and I have tried restarting it. As for a
corrupt dll file, I don't know were to start.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Phil
