I have a HP laserjet 4+ printer. Somehow some job was sent
to the printer and all I get out is garbage...I have been
to several news groups with HP and done 20 or so exercises
20 or more times and it still does not stop printing. I
disconnected the cable from my computer and printed fine
from another computer...so I am told the print job is
spooled on my computer somewhere and I have looked
everywhere suggested to delete the job. I have reinstalled
the drivers a dozen times and done everything everyone has
told me to do...still no fix. I paid HP $50 for tech
support which was finally told when they couldn't help, it
had to be a software problem...no seems to know. Anyone
out there that can tell me where the file for the garbage
print job is hiding so I can delete it and go back to using
my printer?

Please, Oh please, someone out there help!

Thank you,

Gerry

Have you tried turning the printer off for a while, then turning it back on?

Stop the print spooler ... from the command prompt, type

net stop spooler

Go into the Control Panel, click on Printers & Faxes, right click on the
printer and select Cancel All Pending Print Jobs.

Then restart the print spooler...from the command prompt, type

net start spooler

Disconnect the printer from the PC. Uninstall it and reinstall it
correctly.
