why wont vista recognise all my devises ie, printer speakers

There are a lot of different possible reason. The most common culprit
is Drivers. Consider visiting the different companies's websites who
make the devices that are not working, look up your product in their
'Support' section and a search for a 'Vista Driver'. Its the best way
to help get your devices up and running.
 
What printer? What audio adapter?

Have you gone to the manufacturers' web sites and downloaded and installed
proper Vista drivers?
