Printer won't work with XP

I have upgraded from Win Me to Win XP. But my printer
won't work. I have a Canon S450. I found and downloaded
the new driver for XP and I have added my printer which
shows up looking just fine. However, nothing prints and
the printer is grayed-out in the control panel. Any ideas
on what I am doing wrong?

If you kept the printer connected during the upgrade, then the drivers
become corrupted.

Uninstall your printer using the following instructions:
http://www.coribright.com/Windows/Article One.htm

Then use the software from the Canon website, install it and do NOT connect
the printer until the software tells you to do so.
