Printer won't print

I have a Lexmark X84-85 Printer and Windows XP. All my
drivers have been added from Windows XP. Whenever anyone
logs on to their desktop, there is an X under the Lexmark
Icon in my startup bar (right corner). Therefore, I am
unable to print. Whenever I reboot the computer, it
enables the Lexmark Icon to let me print. It is quite
annoying to have to reboot the computer everytime we want
to print. Is there anything else that can be done? I
have uninstalled and installed several times and it still
is happening. A driver is not being recognized for some
reason. What can be done to ammend this situation?
Thanks in advane! Lydia

Lexmark has a patch for the x84/x85? Not exactly the same error but
similar. if removing drivers did not work.
