I have no idea how your network is configured......

Do you mean the printer is connected to both PCs via an A/B switch?

Orr are the two PCs networked together with the shared printer being
connected to your PC only?

Or are you printing to the printer via a USB cable and he is printing to the
printer via a parallel cable?

perhaps i didnt explain myself clear enough but never mind ill try better.
lol I have one pc running xp, xp can have mulitple users ie me and my dad.
If one peron logs onto the 1 pc on windows xp ie me, i can use the printer
fine. But...if i log off or switch user..using the xp tool log off/switch
user and then log on as my dad....the printer will not work. This is not
over a network and is on only one pc. Sorry for any confusion and hope you
can help
many thanx
