Hi all,

I have a PC running Win2k and 2 "older" printers, both use the parallel
port - no USB option on either. I need to use both if possible.
I set up an A/B switch and connected the PC's parallel port to the common
and the 2 printers to A and B.
It kind of works but...

The first printing after a switching over to one or the other is garbage -
strange characters and unusable. After that print job is over that printer
will print fine. It's just the print job directly after a switch over.

I have the latest drivers for both printers installed. One machine is a HP
Photosmart and the other is an IBM.

Does anyone have any idea what is happening and how I can get a clean
switch over the first time?

Thanks so much!

Is it an auto sensing switch? This setup is used, believe it or not, in the corporate world allot still, some printers just don't
work well. You can try changing the spool settings...RAW seemed to be the best way but try them all printer properties -
details(on mine)-spool settings

It's a push button switch - I'll try some different spool settings -
thanks!

might be easier to install a separate card with a second LPT port?
They aren't all that expensive.
