I have received this error message today. After a little
research I see that this is a common error. On the
microsoft knowledge base it suggests to type net start
spooler at a command prompt. I did this and received the
message the dependency service or group failed to start.
What do I do now?

The only dependency that I know of for the Print Spooler service is the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. I would right
click on My Computer, click on Manage, branch out Services and Applications, click on Services and then make sure the
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is Started. If it is not started we want to try to start it, you can do this by right clicking it
and selecting Start from the context menu.
