I am trying to get my laptop to print to my home printer. The laptop is
wireless. I have followed all the instructions I can get my hands on, but I
keep getting a printer error.

What is your printer connected to now? You can't print out of thin air. Is
the printer connected to a desktop computer? If so, activate File and Print
sharing and go to the Properties > Sharing tab of the printer and click
"Share this printer". Naturally, the desktop computer must be on to print
this way.

If you have a router these usually have a print server port to which you can
connect to the printer. And you'd need to install the print server software
too.
