Hi,

Have a printer connected locally to a computer on
WorkstationA which is a member of workstationA. LaptopB
from domainB wants to see and use the printer when
connected to the network.

basically guy is taking his work laptop home and wants to
be able to use his local home printer on his home dekstop
over his cable router network. he can see the shared
printer but gets an access denied error when trying to
connect to it. anyway around this?

thanks

Firts he needs to make sure under network settings he has
file and print sharing installed. If he is using Windows
XP or W2K at home he will need to create a user account on
his his home pc hosting the printer that is the same user
name and password as he uses to log in to his work
Notebook. The printers must be shared and print
permissions for the everyone group. This way when he tries
to install or connect to the printer it use his user info
from the notbook to authenticate his user name granting
him access. Hope this helps.
