I read all questions and answers, but no one have the same problem as I do:
MY printer connected to XP is not usable by vista, because vista driver for
that printer (Samsung) is different from xp driver, I can not load the vista
driver in the laptop because the printer is not hooked to the laptop, and the
pcs with XP reject the driver, (not recognized by windows).

When the install asks you to plug in the printer, click next. It will then
prompt you to say that the printer is not connected. On this dialog you need
to click No in order to continue. This will then install the drivers using a
file for output. After the install finishes, go to Control Panel | Network
and Sharing Center. Make sure that Printer Sharing is turned on. Then go to
Control Panel | Printers | Add a printer and add a network printer. The
shared printer should show up in a list and you should be able to continue
with your install. After it is finished you can delete the entry for the
Samsung printer that outputs to a file.
