Scott

I recently set up a home network. My company allows me to
work remotely, therefore I access my corporate intranet
via VPN client. My laptop I use for work is loaded with
2000.

I am running XP on my desktop and my printer is connected
to this machine.

I am using a wireless router to connect both computers to
the net.

How do I configure these two machines in order to share my
printer.

Scott,

Your home network consist of a work group, your company laptop is most
likely part of a domain. In order to get your company laptop to access your
home network, you will have to make it part of your home workgroup. Once
you have networked with your workgroup, you can then go, on you 2000 laptop,
to Start > Setting > Printers and add a new printer. Select network
printer, and it will show you your workgroup and your desktop PC. Click on
the Desktop PC and you will see your printer ( if it is shared) install the
printer and the drivers. That's it !!

Now the hard part, once you have taken your laptop out of the Domain to
connect to you home workgroup, you will have to place it back into the
domain to connect back on the company network. Your company IT department
may not make this easy for you to do. I suggest asking them first, before
you take it out of the domain, if they allow you to change to workgroup and
back to domain again. My company won't allow us to switch back to domain on
our own, we have to bring the laptops' back to tech support so they can
check for viruses before switching us back to the domain and allowing us to
connecting to the network again. Once we change to a workgroup, we are stuck
there and can't change back to domain without IT doing it for us, darn
security !!

Good, luck
