We have a printer that we are currently sharing between 2
users. The user where it is directly connected can print
just fine. The user that it's shared out to, can't
print. He gets a message saying can't start print job. I
rebooted into Administrator account and it prints fine
from there. So I had him reboot into his account, and it
won't print. I deleted the shared print driver,
reinstalled and he can print fine. Then he will logoff and
log back in and he can't print again. There is a status
message on the printer driver that access is denied. All
shared properties look good on both pcs. If you delete
the driver and reinstall, he can print, but as soon as he
logs off and back in ..access is denied. I have no clue
what to do .

I have a similar problem. The problem is that your
computer is not logging back on to the host computer.
After you restart, go through network neighborhood and
double click on the host computer. It will ask for a
username and password. Once you enter it, you will be
able to use the printer. My problem is getting the other
computer to remember the logon and do it automatically so
you don't have to relogon to the host computer each time.

What OS are the workstations using.

Try creating an entry for the remote user in the printer
security properties on the host machine.

That is exactly what's happeneing...and the username and
password is administrator. Now if only we could set it up
so it would recognize it every time and not have to
reconnect
