Printer sharing problems

Can anybody assist ?

I am having a problem sharing a printer. It is attached
via USB to new XP (sp2) workstation. WS is member of
domain. Printer installed by admin & shared, for
everyone - all defaults settings, worked many times
before.
When I try to setup printer from another workstation,
system asks for user name & password. Don't know why -
other printers (same setup) dont, they just connect.
It doesnt matter what credentials I supply, it cames back
with 'Windows cant connect to printer, operation
cancelled' message.

The only way I can connect to it is if I log onto domain
server as administrator.

I have tried uninstall, reinstall, etc

Any ideas ?

What make and model of printer is this? Some printer drivers do strange
things.
