Hi!

I don't always want to select the user's default printer, nor do I always
want to use a specific printer for a report.

Is there a way I can add the normal printer setup as a icon on a toolbar
that will let my users select what printer they want?

Right now all I can figure out is how to choose either a specific printer
or the user's default printer. But I want them to be able to choose, and I
can't see how to get the normal printer selection prompt do come up.

Please let me know.

Thanks!
Karen

In Access 2002 or 2003, you can set the Application.Printer object before
you OpenReport.

For a downloadable example of how to do that through a toolbar button, see:

The article has some links for older versions of Access also.

Hi Allen!

Thanks! This does indeed look like what I need. I can't believe, though,
that Microsoft never added this functionality to Access!! Sorry, but to
quote my teen-age niece, "How dumb is that?"

I do have one small question, though. I am running Access 2003, but when
I open the database, it tells me that it is using Access 2000 format. Also,
some of my users may have Access 2000. So, I'm not sure which of the set of
code designed for different versions would be most appropriate. Please
advise.

Thanks!
Karen
