Windows Vista Printer set-up problems.

I am having terrible trouble trying to download the set-up between my computer and my Wireless(Lexmark Z1420) I get hafway through and then a message reads GUI has stopped working,Whats GUI ? and can I fix it ? I am a Vista Home user,It was working then stopped. I would appreciate any help. Regards. Peter
 
Inte Core 2 DUO Processor,Intel Core Duo/solo processor
Intel Pentium Dual core processor,intel Celeron M processor.
Wireless LAN

Please try and go on to Lexmarks website are you sure that the drivers you are installing are Vista ones and not XP ones because XP drivers will not work with Vista another thing you could try is going to there website and downloading the latest drivers for Vista and see if that helps,

I set up one of these printers for someone, on Vista...
Had no issues whatsoever.

You need to connect via USB first, to configure the scanner/printer.... did you do this?
 
Yes I set up with the USB, and it worked fine ,then I had a virus and reinstalled Vista and the asociated softwear,and this GUI stopped message came up with a message that it was closing the set up programme. Peter.
 
Hi Peter,
I would uninstall/remove the app/util/driver and reinstall - re set-up again via USB again.

If that fails to resolve the problem, please post a screenshot of the error.
 
Still no joy,is it the Printer or the Computer? Still cannot find any reference to GUI(Apart from the Definition you kindly sent to me). Thanks for all the support anyway. Peter
